Sunbeams in Photoshop

I found a way to enhance the sun beams in photoshop.
Does it look natural, or is it a bit to much?

  1. The second one is a bit much, but if you pull it back a touch, it’d be great. I was just talking with another photog about how difficult it is to do sunbeams well…looks like you have a great editing workflow here for it! 🙂

  2. Nicely done, the first is really good; the second is a bit too much for me, bit it is a great skill to use when you need too!
    Greetings, Ron.

  3. and i’m saying the same: first one looks realistic, the second one looks like a sf movie. now it’s time to share with us what you did 😉 give us a tutorial, come on! 🙂

  4. I particularly like the 2nd one.. not for realism but because of it’s spooky quality… now if you had the hint of a figure emerging from the light that would be REALLY great.

  5. I like the second one too. For me the unreal aspects of it are in the tree trunks. I had to look closely to see if you had been doing something to distort them. The exaggerated sunbeams go very well with those trees. The third shot is far too scifi cinematic, but if it makes Helen happy, who’s going to complain!
